இந்த உலகில் ஆயிரக்கணக்கான பேர் திருக்குறளை ஆழ்ந்து படித்திருக்கிறார்கள், பேசியிருக்கிறார்கள், பாடல்களாகப் பாடியிருக்கிறார்கள். ஆனால் திருக்குறளை நாட்டிய நாடகமாக ஆடியவர்கள் மிகவும் குறைவு. இன்றைய சிக்கல்கள் நிறைந்த உலகத்தில் திருக்குறள் கூறும் நன்னெறி உணர்வுகளைத் தேடும் ஒரு நாட்டிய நாடகத்தை திருக்குறள் மாநாட்டில் நமக்கு அளிக்க- விருக்கிறார்கள.

பத்மராஜா சகோதரிகள். 37 திருக்குறள்களைக் கொண்டு தயாரிக்கப் பட்ட இந்த நாட்டிய நாடகம் புத்துணர்ச்சி அளிக்கும் விருந்தாக அமையும். புகழ் பெற்ற நாட்டியக் கலைஞர்களான தனஞ்ஜெயன் தம்பதிகளின் திறமையான கலை நயத்தின் அடிப்படையில் அமைந்த இந்த நடன அமைப்பு, திருவள்ளுவரின் அர்த்தமுள்ள இரண்டு வரித் தமிழ் கவிதைகளை உயிரூட்டப்பட்ட ஒரு நடனமாக நம் கண் முன் நிறுத்துகிறது. பத்து தலை இராவணன் போன்ற புராண கதாபாத்திரங்களோடு அன்னை தெரேஸா உள்ளிட்ட நிகழ் கால நாயகர்களையும் இந்த நடனத்தில் பிரதிபலிக்கிறார்கள்.

In line with the theme and objectives of the International Thirukkural Conference, we have a unique Bharatha Natyam dance performance called “Thirukkural – Immortal Words of wisdom” by the Pathmarajah sisters. The Pathmarajah sisters - Kavitha, Meera and Anjana Pathmarajah - are exceptionally talented disciples of the world renowned dance maestros the Dhananjayans. They have given numerous Bharatha Natyam performances in the United States.

In this unique dance program choreographed by the Dhananjayans, the Pathmarajah sisters will depict thirty seven Thirukkurals in an animated dance drama style set in original music. There is no doubt that the Dananjayans’ artistic brilliance combined with the superb dancing talents of the Pathmarajah sisters will be a rare and memorable experience to the audience. This is the first time this fascinating Thirukkural dance drama is going to be performed in the United States. Many of us have read, memorized and recited Thirukkural. Now we have a chance to see it being performed as a dance drama.
